Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma - Raijin Shochie

My OC.

Raijin Shochie is a young chef and the middle son of Sanae Shochie, proud owner of Restaurant Mikami. He is the middle twin brother of Fujin and Suijin, in which the three are commonly referred to as the "Mikami Triplets." Alongside his siblings, Raijin has been cooking since he was four and was trained by a professional which made him an expert. The triplets have been Soma's friend since childhood and each were responsible for some of the cooking techniques, styles and methods he had used during his examinations and duels. Raijin taught Soma the power of perseverance and showmanship; giving the customers a stellar performance in cooking and preparing the dishes before them as means of attracting more and more customers, but to also race against time limiting situations and not wasting a second nor giving up even when the situation seems hopeless. This Live Cooking technique he taught to Soma is partially what helped him in the Breakfast Buffet 200 Servings task.

Raijin is described as wild, energetic and optimistic, playing off as the initiating and excited brother to his siblings and friends. He desires to become a better chef as he continues cooking new dishes, but always strives to put on amazing performances each time. Due to his mostly positive attitude, Raijin makes an appoint to place festivities in cooking by making the competitions and events seem fun and enjoyable. He had practiced his form in performance arts since childhood as he always made mistakes for a year until he finally developed an excellent sense of grace, referring to himself a "Rock Star of the Cooking World." He is also known for being quite courageous as he is always willing to take on challenges given to him, though rarely initiates challenges against others especially if there is truly nothing to gain from them. Raijin tends to be rather easy-going among friendly faces and occasionally around strangers, yet can turn aggressive and condescending towards those who managed to provoke him.

Those around him usually view him as crazy or persistent, but after hearing his name and learning of his persona many visualize him as the Thunder Deity Raijin. Like few other chefs, Raijin carries an item wherever he goes and is always seen with his stylish headphones as he is constantly listening to music. He often expresses interest in other potential chefs and decides to assist them in becoming better as well as showing off his skills in order to give them a form of hope. His passion can be somewhat inspiring and a bit intimidating due to his strong determination. This attributes to Raijin having an apparent need to change the negatives moods into a positive atmosphere in order to feel extra lively. He believes that everyone, including those talented and prestige, of Totsuki Academy has personal issues needed to be dealt with and volunteer in guiding them to better solutions. Like Soma, Raijin has no regards for Totsuki Academy's students' positions or roles and views them all as equals or at the very least just normal people who seem to have a passion for cooking. With that, he nonchalantly and casually chats with a few members of the Elite Council Ten.

Other than cooking, Raijin seems to have an interest in music as often seen playing his instruments on his spare time. He attempted to start his band and had been asked by a few other bands to join, however he had a responsibility to his family's restaurant. He still compensated for them as he would play rock music with them and prepare delicious dishes for them. He and his siblings are said to be the future owners of "Restaurant Mikami", having spend the majority of their lives working as a team, from Raijin's killer presentation to Suijin's heartfelt preparations ending with Fujin's charismatic service, the Mikami Triplets always bring amazement and satisfaction whenever they are together. The three siblings later transferred to Totsuki Academy sometime before the 43rd Annual Totsuki Autumn Election where they look on as spectators and later became members of the Polar Star Dorm.

Using the kanji for "Rai" which can mean "defeat" and "Jin" which can mean "person" can be translated to "man who defeats". His surname "Sho" can mean "many" or "various" and "Chie" can mean "wisdom", "wit" or "sense." It can be translated to "various forms of wisdom" and his full name can be roughly translated to "man who wins with many wits" which can attribute to his constant drive to impress others through his knowledge should there be a challenge.
